Raiders of the Lost Ark (1951) Trailer

(via) Have you ever wondered...
Raiders of the Lost Ark was a 50s film serial? Who would be best suited for the role of Indiana Jones? How would his villains translate to this era? What would the film's musical score sound like?
As the skillful editor behind this "pre-make" trailer notes, the fact that "George Lucas and Steven Spielberg created Raiders as a homage to classic serials" means that these questions can be answered fairly easily.

If you missed them the first time around, check out his "pre-make" trailers for Ghostbusters with Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, and Dean Martin, and Forrest Gump with Jimmy Stewart.

Comments:
Anyone know the Heston movie from which these shots were taken?

Check out the description on the YouTube posting, where the editor lists the full "recipe" he started with. He doesn't specify which movies the specific clips came from, but a lot of the Heston stuff came from The Greatest Show On Earth unless I miss my guess.

Anthony Quinn as Sallah? I love it...
I've never tried to identify them, but I understand "Raiders" is supposed to have 12 or so distinct cliffhangers that can be called chapter breaks...

Wow, I'd never noticed that before, Bill! I'm going to have to watch it again and see if I can pick them out.
