District 9

(via) I know I've posted a lot today, but this is probably it for the day. Probably.

But look, how could I pass this one up? Peter Jackson produces a film by Neil Blomkamp that mines some of the same ground that gave us Alien Nation, reimagining refugee immigrants as crash-landed aliens, but this time in a faux-documentary style. Definitely looks interesting.

Comments:
Oh yes. Been tracking this movie for a while now, and it does seem very interesting. Defenitly want to watch this one when it comes out.

This is the first I've heard of it. I'm not sure how I've missed bumping into news of it before, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it now.

You should also check "Moon" in that case, which is the other SF flick I'm waiting for. Seems interesting as well.

"Moon" is *definitely* on my radar. (Though I'm worried that I've already figured out the "twist" from watching the trailer...)

I saw this trailer when we saw Wolverine the other day, and that was the first I've heard of it...sounds very interesting ,though!

I've seen Moon (there was a AIAA showing here in Houston) and enjoyed it quite a bit...the director talked a lot about making a SF movie similiar to those of the 70's (basically pre Star Wars), which I think he's done a good job of.

I'm worried for the same reason, but hoping this is just a red herring and the creators will outsmart us all. But even if not, it still looks great and I think I will enjoy it anyhow. I loved the look of those early-mid 70's SF movies, so even if just for that.

I'll definitely be checking out Moon, and yeah, from the trailer I definitely got the mid-70s vibe they were going for.
