I really wish people would Think before they speak and realize that it is not funny to say things are gay when they mean stupid or bad. It is upsetting to people like me who are gay.
 

Eric, I couldn't agree more. "Gay" is never used as a pejorative in my household, and never has been. So far as I'm concerned, "gay" means "homosexual", and there's not a damned thing wrong with that.

I think the humor here is meant to come not from the fact that these superhero outfit look "stupid or bad", but because they look, well, gay.
