Shadow Unit

I'm fascinated by this.

Elizabeth Bear describes Shadow Unit as "the website for a serial drama in internet form. Or possibly it's a fan site for a TV show that doesn't exist." The "staff writers" for the project are Bear, Sarah Monette, Emma Bull, and Will Shetterly. In the coming weeks the site will be host to a series of novellas and novelettes, along with a complete novel, some of which will be free and some of which will be by subscription. New material every two weeks "comprising the first season (of hopefully many) of a television show that doesn't exist."

How cool is that? Bull and Shetterly were instrumental in the Borderland shared world series which was an enormous influence on me in high school (and was a significant influence on the shared world of San Cibola back in Clockwork Storybook days), and I greet the news of this new evolution of the shared world concept with interest. If I had my druthers there'd be some sort of RSS feed for site update announcements, but it's early days yet and for all I know they've got something similar in the works.

Comments:
This should be cool!

Looks like they've added an RSS feed, which is handy.
