SF Signal interview Alan Beatts

The good people at SF Signal have done an interview with my very good friend Alan Beatts, the owner and proprietor of Borderlands Books in San Francisco, which is inarguably one of the two or three best independent genre book stores in the country, and arguably the best of the bunch. I've known Alan longer than I've known anyone in publishing, having met him at the first party on the first night at the first World Fantasy Convention I attended in 2000. As I've told Alan many times, I don't always agree with everything he says, but I know that anything he's got to say is worth listening to. He's got some interesting comments in the interview about the state of the industry, as he sees it, and where he thinks it's all heading. Alan was there back when I was a fervent believer in the PoD revolution, and he was the one to say, "Well, you know, Chris..." ; he was right back then, and there's every reason to believe he's still right now. Well worth a look.
