Venture Bros. Shirt of the Week

I didn't realize that the new season of Venture Bros was almost upon us until last night. I knew it was coming up in June, but was jazzed to realized it was premiering this Saturday. A two hour Lostand a new Venture Bros in one week? Coming so close on the heels of trips to the theater to watch Iron Man (which was great, very nearly flawless) and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (which was good, and much better than it could have been)--and in a week that sees the release of a new issue of All-Star Superman and the first issue of Grant Morrison's Final Crisis--this really is an embarrassment of riches.

The announcement of the Venture Bros. Shirt of the Week Club, though, is almost too much.

Here's the first shirt, available for a week following this Saturday's premier of the episode "Shadowman 9: In the Cradle of Destiny":

Awesome...

Hey,
I really, really need a G.C.I t-shirt, so this is just gold. Glad to hear you liked Iron Man and Indy, both very great movies. I've spent nearly a week arguing with the Indy-haters. I know it was different, but it was still Indiana Jones. The ending actually had a sort of Planetary vibe to it, but maybe that was just me.

I've got some quibbles with the ending--a bit too long, in my book--but as soon as John Hurt's Oxley character explained that these weren't "spacemen," as such, but "interdimensional travelers," quite a lot was forgiven. And it did indeed have something of a Planetary vibe, now that you mention it.

I'm ready for the Mutt Williams spin-off series now, though. Put Indy in a supporting role and then send Mutt on a whole string of adventures, and I'll be there on opening day.

I ponied up for the T-Shirt subscription a couple of days ago. I'm a shameless Venture Brothers whore. They could put Brock Sampson's face on a cowpie and I'd be tempted to shell out some green for it.

I too enjoyed Crystal Skull, although I think it's the weakest of the four movies. It was really nice seeing Indy back on the big screen though. Even if he is getting a little long of tooth. Iron Man completely rocked my world.

Only the fact that Allison would kill me if I plunked down a couple of hundred bucks for a bunch of t-shirts has kept me from doing the whole subscription. I'll probably end up just getting a few of them, but the GCI is certainly looking like a contender.

And yeah, it's hard to think of ways in which Iron Man could have been improved, isn't it?
