Miss Otis Regrets

For reasons surpassing understanding, I've had Kirsty MacColl and the Pogues' version of Cole Porter's "Miss Otis Regrets" (from Red Hot + Blue) running through my head for days.

My earwig, let me share it with you...

And as an added bonus, here's David Byrne's cover of Porter's "Dont' Fence Me In," from the same compilation, which usually bubbles up from my subconscious once every few months for the last couple of decades.

A great compilation, that Red Hot + Blue...

Actually the BEST of a great lot is Tom Waits's amazing version of "It's Alright With Me"! But those are both excellent choices too :)
It's been a while sine I listened to it, but I remember thinking that there weren't really any clunkers on there, at all.

I've had a lot of fun the last few days hunting down the videos they did, most of which I'd never seen before. I especially like the Alex Cox-directed video for Iggy Pop and Debbie Harry's "Well Did You Evah".
