The Day's Progress - Wednesday Edition
End of the Century, she is done. I have only to do a last read through, check for any last typos or gaffs, number the chapters and send it off to my long-suffering editor, who's been waiting for this thing since the end of January.
Longer than I'd expected, but not as long as I'd feared. It is longer than my last two novels combined, though, which is some kind of accomplishment, I think.
No samples. Too many spoilers.
I'm off to have a glass of wine and watch Rome.

Congratulations says the long-suffering editor, who can't wait to read it and marvels at the length.
You think you're marvelling. Honestly, when I started writing this eight weeks ago, I actually worried that I wouldn't have enough plot to fill 90K words. Then I ended up cutting out everything that wasn't absolutely essential, and cutting corners wherever possible, and still ended up half again longer than expected!
